Clements Wood includes hazel copses, open spaces and wet meadows, providing good habitats for plants and wildlife. Mature hedgerows border the wood and late summer sees a burst of colour with seasonal ground flora.

Look out for orange-tip butterflies in spring among flowering bluebell, primrose and wild garlic. You might also spot wood anemone, wood sorrel and water avens. The small wet meadow by the Larne river, an important and nationally threatened habitat, supports marsh marigold, water forget-me-not and cuckoo-flower.
