We all enjoy wildlife, whether it’s spotting the first butterflies of spring, tuning into the buzz of insects on a woodland walk or simply watching birds from our window. But did you know we live in one of the most nature-depleted countries on Earth? A worrying 16% of species are threatened with extinction from Great Britain and too many of our rare animals are struggling, but by working together, we can turn the tide and create a brighter future for people and nature.
Take our quiz to see if you recognise which species are most at risk. Are hedgehogs endangered? How about red squirrels, badgers or bees? Find out what animals are endangered, what we’re doing to change things and how you can help make a difference.
An endangered species is facing a very high risk of extinction in the wild.

Plant trees
