Delve into the magical world of biofluorescence with a guided walk at Glen Finglas.

One of nature's best-kept secrets, biofluorescence is an optical phenomenon where organisms absorb light at one wavelength and emit it at another, usually longer wavelength. Under the right light, such as ultra-violet (UV), this makes them glow in bright, iridescent colours which would otherwise be invisible to the naked eye.

With UV torches provided, you'll venture into the darkness at Glen Finglas with experts from Reveal Nature to witness this stunning display in a wide range of plants, animals and fungi.

Booking in advance via Reveal Nature's website is essential. There are two time slots to choose from.

Book the 8–9.30pm time slot.

Don't forget

Please come prepared with warm clothing as the pace of the walk is slow. We recommend wearing sturdy shoes, as the terrain is uneven, and wearing trousers to avoid stinging nettles.

Safety glasses will be provided and must be worn throughout the walk for your protection.

This event is suitable for anyone aged 12 years and above. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

There are toilets located in the visitor gateway.
