Tree champion challenge

Tree eagle, by Hayden Griffiths from Crossways Junior School, Bristol and Charlotte the deer by Wilf Inglis from Elstree School, Reading, winners of the Tree Champion Challenge Competition, Autumn 2015

To celebrate the Charter for Trees, Woods and People we're introducing the Tree Champion Challenge, worth two points on the Green Tree Schools Award.

Use our resources below to get your pupils thinking imaginatively and ask them to create their very own character who they feel could be a spokesperson for woods and trees. It could be a person, animal or made up creature. Then hold a vote within your class to choose your top three characters, email these over to us to claim your points.

How to claim your points

Please scan and email your top three characters to learning@woodlandtrust.org.uk with the subject line ‘Tree Champion Challenge’.

Two points will be added to your account after we receive your evidence (usually within two weeks).

If your school is not already signed up to the Green Trees Schools Award, find out more and register.
