EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE COUNCIL WOOD
The woodland lies on a low east-west ridge. the north-facing slope is dominated by semi mature native tree species, particularly birch with some ash and alder. Semi-mature sycamores are also present. The crest of the ridge is dominated by semi-mature birch and sycamore. Much of the south-facing slope is dominated by mature beech and sycamore with a dense Rhododendron understorey. There is a small stand of mature oak near the south-east corner. There is also approximately 0.5 ha of open ground with colonising scrub. To the west of the woodland is an amenity grassland, surrounding a low, marshy area. A shelter-belt of spruce and cypress lies between the amenity grassland and the neighbouring golf course.
A surfaced path runs through the amenity area, east-west through the woodland on the crest of the ridge and forms a loop around the north-east corner of the wood. there are two sections of boardwalk close to the north edge of the wood. Other, unsurfaced paths from links around the boundary and across the middle of the wood.
