South Hill Wood
LONDON BOROUGH OF BROMLEY WOOD
South Hill Wood is some 2.5 hectares. It contains remnants of ancient woodland, and has an interesting history. Flora and fauna surveys have identified 4 species of butterfly; 3 of bats; 26 of bird; 29 of trees; and 81 of various flora. In Spring, bluebell areas come to life. Information panels describe history, flora, and fauna. There is a strong Friends Group, with impressive improvement programmes. New planting encourages butterflies and birds. Nearby is Kingswood Glen, with four ponds.
