A mosaic of different woodland types makes this site particularly interesting. It has two ponds and two streams running through but volunteers have been busy creating footbridges and drying out the path edges. A carpet of bluebells in Spring.
Visitor announcement: Parking near Hillhouse Wood is very limited and becomes very difficult during peak seasons.
Visitors are advised to park in the village of West Bergholt and walk across the fields using the public footpath. This is just a ten minute walk to the wood and will ensure stress free parking. We recommend using the Ordnance Survey map (available online) rather than Google Maps for this route if you require further guidance.
