Many footpaths run the length of this secluded wood. It is very popular with walkers, but can get muddy at times. Nearby is Callow Hill and the tower known as Flounder's Folly. Originally built in the 1830's, the tower has been recently restored and is, on occasion, open to the public. It is said that seven counties can be seen from the top on a clear day.
