Fir and Pond Woods
HERTFORDSHIRE & MIDDLESEX WILDLIFE TRUST WOOD
A remainder of the ancient Enfield Chase this woodland boasts an abundance of wildlife with diverse woodland, meadow & wetland habitats. Trees are mostly oak & hornbeam with some beech, rowan and silver birch. Dragonflies can be spotted around the fen and pond at the southern end of the site. The ancient meadow attracts many species of butterfly & grasshopper, as well as wildflower & grass species such as wood sage, tormentil & heath bed-straw. It also makes a great spot for a picnic!
