This wood forms part of Seven Acre Park, in the Mortonhall area of the city. This area is popular with local families as there is a great play area with basketball nets and football goals, as well as opportunities for running, walking and cycling. There are a few benches and picnic tables, and the park has extensive views across Edinburgh. Stanedykehead is a private road but parking may be possible locally on residential streets. The nearest bus routes are a 10 to 15 minute walk away.
