Despite being bordered by the M65, the railway line and surrounded by Burnley town this is a surprisingly peaceful wood. It is best approached from the towpath of the Leeds to Liverpool Canal and is well worth a visit in spring, when a section of it near the towpath is carpeted in primroses.
