A site of ancient woodland with a wide range of wild flowers. Particularly attractive in the spring and early summer with high bio-diversity. It is also home to a great many birds. Cessnock wood is great woodland to visit and combined with Threepwood Farm and Burnhouse Brae woodlands, makes for a great trilogy of contrasting woodland visits.
