Blackleach Country Park

Reminiscent of Clifton Country Park, Blackleach provides a haven for wildlife, set back from the busy urban areas of Walkden & Farnworth. The lake provides lots of opportunity to spot Tufted Ducks, Grey Heron, Goosander, Water Rail, Swans, Coots, Moorhen and even the odd Cormorant. Other wetland sections attract Damsel and Dragonflies and good paths by the Lakeside, through the wood, or further along the old railway lines, are great for bird spotting or just enjoying the peaceful location.
