Natural flood management using leaky dams

This case study looked at natural flood management in Kiln Wood, Blackboys.

It aimed to establish the effectiveness of woody material in slowing and storing water in small headwater streams and floodplain areas.

The outcome was very positive, with multiple benefits identified for both people and wildlife. Kiln Wood is now being used as a demonstration site so the learnings can be passed on.
