What we've achieved

Simplyhealth has been a key supporter of our free trees scheme since October 2024. Through their innovative Go Digital campaign, Simplyhealth encouraged customers to go paperless, and donated to the Trust for every customer who made the switch.

So far, Simplyhealth has donated £304,307, supporting our planting seasons in autumn 2024, spring and autumn 2025, and spring 2026. Their generous contribution has helped fund 76,980 trees, enabling thousands of young people and local communities to plant trees. Their support is helping increase vital UK tree cover as well as inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards.

Why support free trees?

As a business that recognises that a healthy planet is essential for healthy people, our free tree scheme was a natural fit for Simplyhealth. Woods and trees play an important role in supporting mental health and wellbeing, from reducing stress and anxiety to encouraging physical activity by helping people reconnect with nature. By planting trees in urban communities and areas with limited access to vital green spaces, we’re helping to create healthier, greener environments where people can experience the everyday wellbeing benefits that nature provides.

At Simplyhealth and Denplan, we’re proud to partner with the Woodland Trust. By enabling free trees to be planted in schools and communities across the UK, we’re improving health outcomes through improved access to green spaces. As a B Corp, we champion and use our business as a force for good. By going paperless and unlocking donations for free trees, our customers are helping the environment and supporting the physical and mental health of the nation. This is our purpose in action.

Today we have the team from Simplyhealth to come round our site at Home Farm to learn a little bit about our citizen science programs and a few of the different things that we do, including our Nature's Calendar, where we track and monitor the signs of spring and autumn. And then also our Ancient Tree Inventory, which is our program where members of the public can come and learn about how to measure our ancient and veteran trees and then put them into our online system, which means we can protect them going into the future. Some of our ancient trees are over 3 or 400 years old.

Really good day, really nice change of pace. Kind of good to get out in the wild and see some things that you perhaps wouldn't see on a normal working day. It's just really good.

The meditation bit at the end in the woods is really relaxing. Yeah, it's really nice just to shut off and do something you wouldn't normally do, yeah.

You get to go to amazing places and meet different people, hear what they have to say. And yeah, it's just important to kind of give back if you can.

Thank you so much for having us.

Hands-on support from Simplyhealth

Simplyhealth have taken the opportunity to get hands on with our free trees scheme by directly supporting a local recipient near their head office. During a lunchtime volunteering session in Salisbury, a small but mighty team from Simplyhealth stepped away from their desks and joined the Devenish Bradshaw Charitable Trust, who had received 420 trees through the scheme. Together, they planted 50 trees alongside a roadside hedgerow. It was a pleasure to bring our three organisations together and give Simplyhealth the chance to see the direct impact they’re creating right on their doorstep.

A partnership rooted in wellbeing

Simplyhealth employees also spent a day at Home Farm in north-east Hampshire. From mindful moments during forest bathing to tracking seasonal changes with Nature’s Calendar and contributing to the Ancient Tree Inventory, the day offered a chance to slow down, switch off from daily routines and get hands-on with the natural world. Employees enjoyed reconnecting with nature and experience the wellbeing benefits of spending time outdoors.
