This is Bathing Well Wood, with faint remains of a small pool used to bathe in an old spring's medicinal waters. Mixed woodland, conifer planting with many native species. Hookstone Beck runs down the northern edge of the wood to meet the little River Crimple at the bottom where some replanting of shrubs has been done. A footpath and bridleway run down through this small pleasant wood. Popular with families and walkers, it links to other footpaths and forms part of a local circular walk.
