A walk up Skirrid provides fabulous views all around. The name derives from a Welsh word for tremble. Fawr, translates as big! The summit of Skirrid once slid down the mountainside in a massive landslide. Although long ago, evidence of this can be clearly seen today in the distinctive landscape. This is a great place for bluebells and Wood Anemone in Spring. The National Trust organises a number of events in this area.
