Mostly composed of silver birch and oak trees Prendergast wood hugs the valley floor alongside the river Solva for about 300 yards. One long straight woodland path runs at an angle to intercept the river and is almost certainly a former leat serving Solva water mill, still discernable by the bridge but now a private dwelling. In places it runs in a deep cutting covered in ferns, bluebells campion and grasses. see www.rochmill.co.uk/LocalArea
