The Old Rough lies in the Northwood estate and is a remnant of the once extensive country estate woodlands that used cover this area. Old Oak trees stand tall around parkland that now houses open space and play facilities for the community. Wildflower areas sown by the National Wildflower Centre bring a colourful display to the site annually.
