Nether Hill

Just a few miles from Dalbeattie, this small woodland is predominantly conifer plantation. There is a well made track for access, with views across the local countryside, although the wood is immediately adjacent to the local landfill site and a very busy sawmill. There is plenty of space for parking and the gentle gradient of the track makes for an easy stroll through open woodland - the track is rough and stony. There seems to be an active programme of planting in place (native and conifer).
