Monksfoot

A small privately owned broadleaf woods of mainly new plantings just off the A70 just outside the village of Douglas. Plenty of parking at site. The wide track leads up through the hills beside the woods. There is access to the woods, but the best way to see it is from along the footpath. The views of the surrounding hills are without doubt stunning. The walk is worth it just for the views. A lovely warm day when I visited that there were butterflies out.
