Gelt Wood

Public access between Middle and Lower Gelt. Lovely beech, oak and Elder wood. The river runs down from North Pennines ( Jockey Shield) and has a thick peaty colour to the water. There used to be red squirrels but now mainly greys. Often you will see Heron and duck here.
