Daviot Wood is just on the doorstep of Inverness. The paths here are wide and level, and they are suitable for family cycling or mobility scooters. This forest is a relatively new plantation and provides shelter for variety of wildlife, which includes red squirrels and roe deer. Dragonflies breed in forest pools, owls hunt through the trees at night.
