The wood is predominately oak, ash, sweet chestnut and sycamore and supports many species of birds and wildlife. It supports a large pond and an area of heathland that has been subject to restoration in recent years. A Local Nature Reserve managed by London Wildlife Trust since 1987, it can be enjoyed by itself or in conjunction with Littleheath Woods and Addington Hills nearby. Car parking is relatively easy from the southern entrance using street parking, and a Tram stop is less than 1km distant. See: www.wildlondon.org.uk/nature-reserves/bramley-bank
