Blackweir woods are part of the larger Bute Park in the centre of Cardiff. The broadleaved Wood itself is in narrow strips alongside the river Taff at the northern end of the park next to the extensive playing fields. There are many entrances to the Woods and Bute Park but it is worth accessing near Cardiff Castle and walking through the wooded park with its many facilities and displays of daffodils in spring and arboretum and stone circle. There are nature trails through the Park and Woods.
