Amberswood Common

Amberswood is a former open cast mining site that has now been transformed into one of the borough's best green spaces and one of the key sites within Greenheart. There are over 6km of paths linking areas of woodland, wildflower meadows, grasslands and wetlands. The Friends of Amberswood community group work with Groundwork and Wigan Council to help manage the site.
