An ancient semi-natural woodland with a good path network make this a popular wood with locals and visitors from further afield. Sycamore is the predominant tree species and ash and oak are also present.

Public access is on foot only. There is no public parking near the woods. From the A548, take the Ffynnongroyw exit and turn immediately left. A public footpath leads south off the Wales coast path at SJ 14041 81990 and follows a private road. Walk across the ford and uphill on the track to the start of the woods at SJ137816. Please be aware this is very steep in parts.
