Next to the childrens' playground is this small local nature reserve. It was first planted in the 19th century in part to protect the park from the sight and sound of the passing trains. Now there are mature oak and field maple trees providing a canopy to this wood. Some bluebells brighten the woodland floor and the Beverley Brook passes both sides of the area.
