What better way to spend a summer's day than by getting out into nature?

Join us for a day of fun and adventure with a summer celebration at Bellsquarry Wood.

There will be something for everyone, whether it's exploring the community orchard, having a go at making your own seed bombs, or getting crafty with our games and nature trail.

This is a free event. Booking in advance via Eventbrite is encouraged but this is a drop-in event, so tickets are not essential. Pop in and say hello anytime between 11am and 2pm.

Don't forget

Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for planting outdoors. Good waterproofs, layers, suncream and a hat are advised.

There are no facilities on site. The nearest toilets are available at Bellsquarry Village Hall (EH54 9AA) or Lanthorn Library (EH54 6QY).

Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

When and where

  • Date: Saturday 14 June, 11am–2pm. 
  • Price: free, but donations to support the management of our woodlands are welcome.
  • Location: Bellsquarry Community Orchard, Calder Road, Livingston, EH54 9AD.

    The orchard is located to the west end of Bellsquarry Wood. Look out for event signage and Woodland Trust staff on the day who can direct you if you’re not sure.
  • Parking: on-street parking is available on Calder Road (EH54 9AD) if needed.
  • Access: Bellsquarry Wood has multiple entrances, including a grassy path through the western end of the site that links the wood to Bellsquarry village by the main hall. The other routes in the wood are surfaced and generally accessible, with some sloping paths down towards the pond and burn.
  • Dogs: well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
