Come along on a springtime stroll around Moncreiffe Hill and one of its Iron Age hillforts.

You'll be joined by walk leader John, who will guide you on an exploration of this ancient woodland and its rich history.

Don't forget

Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for walking outdoors. Good waterproofs, walking boots and warm layers are advised. The group will be outdoors for around two hours, which includes a half-hour walk on an exposed hilltop. 

There are no toilet facilities on site. The nearest public toilets with disabled access are in Perth at Marshall Place, Ropemakers Close and Perth Bus Station on Leonard Street. 

Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  • Access: The northern Tay car park has the easiest access to the hillforts. Much of the path network is made up of wide, stone-surfaced forest tracks with loops of different lengths and grades. Some unsurfaced paths can be muddy and steep in places, especially the section to Moredun Fort. 
  • Dogs: well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
