Celebrate the arrival of spring and learn all about birch trees with a unique craft workshop at Glen Finglas.

With the new season kicking into gear, this is the best time of year to forage for birch sap as it begins to rise. There is a roughly two-week window in central Scotland where conditions are perfect to sustainably harvest this refreshing, cleansing drink.

Join naturalist and forager Lauren Lochrie of Herbal Homestead to find out what to look for and how to harvest and use birch sap, while exploring the uses of birch trees and their associated mushrooms.

You'll also have the chance to gather birch branches strewn on the forest floor over winter to create a traditional besom (broomstick) - a symbol of purification and clearing out the old to let in the new.

Booking in advance via Eventbrite is essential.

Don't forget

Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for being outdoors. Good waterproofs, walking boots and warm layers are advised.

Hot drinks and biscuits will be provided but you may wish to bring lunch or your own snacks and drinks.
