Case study: Shelterbelts Can Protect Soil Against Erosion

This case study shows how strategically positioned shelterbelts can stop topsoil being eroded by wind and rain.

The study focuses on Haywood Oaks Farm which was suffering severe erosion problems. They planted hedgerows and introduced a major tree-planting programme, alongside other measures.

The result was a low-cost way to future-proof every aspect of their arable farming.
