Publication date 2017
Publication type Case study
Pages 3

Read our case study on Maple Farm, a 138-hectare organic farm that has incorporated trees in alleys within fields to achieve multiple benefits.

Maple Farm is mostly arable but has 2400 layer hens, as well as pigs and sheep on a small scale. Trees were planted in alleys in three large fields to improve low soil fertility, increase biodiversity, and provide a resource for wood fuel as well as nuts. Learn about their rotation cycle and how the Woodland Trust are helping land owners plant trees.
