Sacriston Wood

The sacred town had a chapel atop these woods; and ancient woods follow the escarpment from the town north into ponds and farmland. Many mature oak and beech cover the slopes and many bird species use these woods. Planted pines cover the lower slopes where an old quarry path links into the town.
