This Local Nature Reserve, managed by London Wildlife Trust on behalf of Barnet Council, has two parts. Firstly, an ancient woodland dominated by oaks and hornbeam. Secondly, a grassland area with some silver leafed maple and narrow-leafed ash, with regeneration of young oaks which will in time extend the woodland overlooking Oakhill Park. A tributary of the Pymmes Brook runs through the Wood, which was 'daylighted' in 2018 to help provide more natural flood resilience in the Park.
