Broad Riding Wood is attractive mixed broadleaf and coniferous woodland that lies just a few miles south of Hertford and forms part of the Broxbourne Woods National Nature Reserve (NNR) in southern Hertfordshire. A Planted Ancient Woodland Site (PAWS) originally thought to be sessile oak/hornbeam similar to the adjacent NNR before large areas of it were planted with exotic conifers.
