EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE COUNCIL WOOD
Also known as Boghead Wood. An old quarry this small site ideal for wildlife lovers - bullfinches and buzzards, colourful wildflowers & insects and butterflies in the springtime.
Young planted trees on former grassland site and self-sown trees and scrub in former quarry. Approximately 75% of the site consists of young planted native broadleaved trees and shrubs. A disused quarry contains self-sown elder, willow and ash. White willow also occurs along the burn at the NW edge of the site. The site also includes an open grassland area and some scrub. Surfaced paths pass through and around the site.
Minor use by horse-riders. Not suitable for all-ability access due to slopes.
