The Oaklands

The Oaklands, a lovely little wood, is accessed from Coal Lane via an unprepossessing and, sadly, littered gateway. Off-road parking is limited, the best available being on a nearby bridleway. However,there is a bus stop at the end of Coal Lane. Horses are welcome to use permissory rides in the wood. Benches are sited overlooking pleasant views. A wildlife pond fringed with bulrushes provides another feature. Livestock grazes in open spaces, so dogs should be kept under control.
