Dunwich Heath is an area of coastal lowland heath just south of the village of Dunwich, in the Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB. Heathland used to form a large part of the Suffolk coast, but much of it has been lost, so what remains at Dunwich is a rare survival. Flora and fauna includes the rare Dartford warbler, deer and many types of bees and wasps. Common Heather and Bell Heather grow here, as well as European and Western Gorse, which flower from June until September.
