This native woodland was planted in 1998/99 and is part of the Red Rose Forest. It provides an interesting contrast with the surrounding cultivated flat, farmed landscape and supports a wide range of plants and wildlife and is a good site for birdwatchers. There is an extensive network of unsurfaced footpaths that cross the site, with a public car park on Moss Road.
