Having funded the planting of one million trees, IKEA is an extremely valuable partner – helping us transform local neighbourhoods across the UK.
We have worked with IKEA since 2007 and, during that time, IKEA has contributed more than £2.6 million to helping us plant trees and provide homes for wildlife.
IKEA Family's 'A Foot of Forest' campaign initially funded 309 acres of fresh new woodland in the UK but also raises funds in its UK stores by allowing generous shoppers to pledge a tree for their local community by donating £1 on top of their bill at the till point.
Currently, IKEA FAMILY is the Trust's key funder of our popular scheme which provides trees for schools and communities.
In 2016 we celebrated IKEA’s planting of its one millionth tree at a special event at Leigh Primary School in Birmingham.
Joanna Yarrow, Head of Sustainability at IKEA UK and Ireland, said:
"As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting local communities, we’re really proud of the partnership with the Woodland Trust and the contribution our IKEA FAMILY members, customers and communities across the UK have made to reach our milestone of planting our millionth tree, here at Leigh Primary School. These beautiful wooded areas can be enjoyed by people for years to come."
Working with IKEA has helped us give away trees to communities across the UK.
