This new wood is part of the Mendip Woodlands and set on a hillside. The wide steep paths are hard work but rewarded by breathtaking views when you reach Burrington Common at the top. It's popular with mountain bikers but still a quiet place for those on foot to explore the shady tranquility. Lots of different birds to be heard here too. Access is found by parking in the village of Rowberrow, walking down School Lane, down the hill, step over the stream and a sign on the left leads the way.
