Badger Wood is situated on the edge of Coton Park in South Derbyshire. It has excellent views towards the industrial landscape of Burton and Swadlincote and the rural landscape of the Mease Lowlands. The woodland planting is a mixture of broadleaf and conifer with native shrubs along the edges of the extensive network of rides and glades. Four wetland areas have been created as habitat for dragonflies and other insects. Bat and bird boxes are installed on the existing mature trees to encourage roosting and nesting. The footpath along the southern boundary has been upgraded to a bridleway and dedicated as such to enable a circular ride into the new woodland.
