QE II Country Park

The woodland is part of the QE2 Country Park which is on a reclaimed colliery spill heap. There is a car park just off the A189 next to a roadside inn. You can also reach the park from the Woodhorn Mining Museum which has a narrow gauge railway. Watersports and fishing are available on the lake. Access is good for wheelchair users with accessible platforms and a tarmac path. There are grassy paths around the lake and tracks in the woods.
