Gallowhill

Just outside Stranraer, the Southern Upland Way enters the southern corner of Gallowhill. In recent years, community groups have taken responsibility for extending the wood by planting over 100,000 saplings of mixed varieties, earning themselves a special mention from a government minister. It is a venue for an Easter Egg Hunt (part of the Dumfries & Galloway Wild Spring Festival. This area provides good views over Loch Ryan
