Experience life in the Iron Age at this fun family event.

Sign up for a one-and-a-half hour session, when your child will complete three activities that will transform them into an Iron Age warrior and give them an insight into what life was like in an Iron Age Hillfort.

Activities will include: training as a warrior with sword fighting and javelin throwing; making your own wooden sword using traditional green woodworking techniques; visiting our replica roundhouse to see Iron Age clothing, jewellery and weapons; and trying campfire cooking.

This event is primarily aimed at children aged 6–11 years, although younger or older children may also be interested in joining in.

Don't forget

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Please dress appropriately for the weather and walking in the woods.

Long trousers and enclosed shoes are advised as ticks and wood ants can be found in this wood. Please bring a hat and sun-cream or rainwear as necessary.
