The UK's woods and trees are in crisis. Development, damage and disease are attacking from every angle – and don’t get us started on climate change. Our trees are in desperate need, and we desperately need trees.

As the UK’s largest woodland conservation charity, we’ve made it our mission to nurture woods and trees back to health, and with them, wildlife and the environment too.

But we can’t do this alone. Your support will help us protect ancient woodland, restore damaged woods and create new native woodland that will endure for generations. With your help, we can fight for the future of woods, wildlife, and our wellbeing.

Support us from just £4 a month.

Membership allows us to...

Your Woodland Trust membership means we can bring damaged woods back to health – creating landscapes and communities resilient to the effects of climate change.

By restoring run-down woods, we can also bring rare species back from the brink. At Loch Arkaig in Scotland, our passionate team has transformed the landscape from forlorn fragments of its former glory to a magnificent mosaic home to pine martens, wild boar and breeding ospreys.

Your membership will help us plant trees which can grow into flourishing new woods ready to store carbon, nurture wildlife such as hazel dormice and pied flycatchers, and make local communities happier and healthier.

You'll support us to influence government policy, work with local groups and councils to get more native trees in the ground and increase tree cover everywhere, including urban areas.

Ancient woodland covers just 2% of the UK. We can't replace what has been lost, but by becoming a member of the Woodland Trust, you can help us protect what is left.

You'll help us look after the ancient woods in our care, record unmapped ancient and veteran woods and trees, fight for new laws to keep woods from being destroyed, and much more.

Every member receives:

  • a welcome pack and membership card
  • our directory to more than 1,000 Woodland Trust woods
  • an identification guide to the leaves of native trees and shrubs
  • three copies of Broadleaf magazine per year
  • a heartfelt welcome into a community of more than 300,000 like-minded members.
