Natural flood management using washland restoration

This case study looked at the creation of new flood water storage using natural flood management techniques. It involved work carried out by the Sussex Flow Initiative and a local organic farmer and contractor.

A series of scrapes and swales were created to encourage stream and surface water to flow into the new scrapes rather than neighbouring land.

The work brought multiple benefits for both people and wildlife.
