Tree shelter for livestock 2017 case study front cover, April 2017

This case study explores the operational and economic effects of integrating trees in sheep and beef-farming systems.

It also looks at the motivations of livestock farmers who have done this. These ranged from shelter for livestock and foliage for browsing to dividing fields to aid shepherding.

Benefits spanned environmental, economic and social. Costs were harder to quantify, however, as the study explains.
