This research report investigates whether trees cost more than grass to maintain in an urban environment.
It concludes that ongoing maintenance of woodland is cheaper than that of different grassland regimes. The benefits of trees are also higher.
The report also examines what those benefits are in the light of increasing awareness of the effects of climate change.
